Jay Hospital began as an eight-bed clinic built in the 1950’s. It was expanded to its current size in the 1960’s. Located in northern Santa Rosa County, Jay Hospital is a 55-bed hospital serving the people of Jay, Century, Flomaton and and the surrounding communities in the northwest Florida-south Alabama area.
The hospital provides acute, emergency and long-term care. It is staffed primarily by family physicians, with Baptist Hospital specialists commuting to Jay Hospital regularly.
“Swing” Bed System: A special feature of Jay Hospital is its "swing" bed system. The hospital uses beds not needed for acute medical/surgical care to provide extended nursing care.
