Sleep Disorders Glossary

Sleep Apnea - A cessation of air flow lasting at least 10 seconds.
Insomnia - Chronic inability to sleep or a perception of inadequate sleep.
Narcolepsy - A syndrome characterized by sudden, uncontrollable desire to sleep.
Nocturnal Myoclonus - A frequent and involuntary kicking of the legs.
Circadian Rhythm Disorder - Inability to sleep when sleep is desired, needed or expected.
Parasomnias - Movements and behaviors during sleep. Includes sleepwalking, sleep talking, night terror, bedwetting and grinding teeth.
