Baptist Health Care selected partners that have demonstrated success in health care development. These companies were selected based on individual industry-wide reputations and extensive experience in designing, planning and building health care facilities similar to our new campus project. Gresham Smith is a nationally-renowned architecture, engineering and design practice with 27 locations throughout the United States and Asia. Gresham Smith brings more than 50 years of experience in health care construction to the project. The firm has designed expansions and facilities for UF Health, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Tallahassee Memorial Health Care, University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and many more. Meadows & Ohly of Peachtree Corners, Georgia serves as program manager with responsibility for the organization, coordination and processes involved in construction. It has successfully completed more than five million square feet of health care construction over the past 10 years. Some of Meadows & Ohly’s projects in the southeast from the past 47 years include the University of Tennessee Cancer Institute, Piedmont Medical Plaza and Midtown Medical Plaza.
Brasfield & Gorrie is the general contractor for the project. Founded in 1964, the Birmingham, Alabamabased company has 12 offices and 3,000 employees. It has earned national recognition for its work. Health care construction represents Brasfield & Gorrie’s largest market sector. The company’s client list includes AdventHealth, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Clemson University, Grandview Medical Center, UAB and the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
Smith Seckman and Reid (SSR) is serving as the equipment and technology planner. It is a 50-year-old engineering and consulting firm supporting health care, sports and municipal environments from design and construction to operations to facility management. Founded on service-oriented and relationship-based approaches, the company has worked with more than 1,500 organizations, including Cleveland Clinic, Memorial Hermann Health, Cook Children’s, St. Jude’s, Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Johns Hopkins, as well as numerous local and regional health care providers.
