Interfacility Transport
Patient Transfers
Patients sometimes require transfer from one health care facility to another. To ensure safe and timely care, Baptist Health Care works with our area EMS partners to determine the most appropriate method of transportation. This may involve local EMS or our own internal transport team. Working together, we will evaluate individual patient needs and timeliness to select the appropriate transport provider to ensure safe and efficient care.
How It Works
Our team works with EMS to determine the appropriate mode of transportation based on individual patient needs and timeliness.
Why It Matters
In collaboration with our EMS partners, we assess transport availability, individual patient needs and clinical urgency to determine the most appropriate transfer method. This approach supports:
- Faster transfers that reduce wait-times and improve coordination between care teams
- Continuity of care through seamless transitions—whether within the Baptist Health Care network or to other locations
- Emergency readiness by supporting EMS teams in prioritizing urgent 911 calls in the community
