Volunteen Program
Each Summer, Baptist Health Care allows teens aged 14-18 years old to gain experience and give back to our community through our Volunteen Program. The opportunity runs during student’s summer break (June-August). Benefits include:
- Earning volunteer hours for scholarships
- Gaining exposure to a health care work environment
- Learning the important and value of a strong workplace culture
- Building relationships with Baptist Health Care team members
Volunteen Summer Program Eligibility
- High school students between 14-18 years of age may apply.
- Students must have parental permission.
- Students must have a teacher recommendation to participate in the program.
- Note: Teens must re-apply each year.

VolunTeen Application Timeline
We accept applications starting March 1st through mid-May on a first come, first serve basis. A limited number of students can participate in the program. Once our program is full, no additional applications will be accepted.
Current VolunTeen Opportunities
- Patient Care Support – Assist professional team members with non-clinical duties such as stocking supplies, visiting patients, tidying rooms, etc.
- Stocking/Supplies – Transport, organize and restock supplies to maintain par levels, check expiration dates, and ensure first in items are used first.
- Wayfinding/Information Desk – Greet patients and guests and provide information/directions. Provide wheelchairs to patients going to procedures and doctor appointments, answer telephone, and take accurate messages, respond to questions and maintain a clean working area.
- Office Support – Assemble packets and materials for special events, prepare new hire folders, and restock or organize office supplies.
