Highlighting Gulf Breeze Hospital and Celebrating 75 Years of Baptist

Gulf Breeze Hospital - caring for you then, now and always

Gulf Breeze Hospital is our focus in June as we continue to celebrate our 75th anniversary. Gulf Breeze Hospital came to be following extensive research in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Findings showed a growing need for additional hospital beds across Escambia, Santa Rosa and Okaloosa counties, with the greatest demand in Gulf Breeze due to its rapid growth and geographic separation from other hospitals. Construction began in September 1983, with the clearing of a 22-acre campus. The hospital was completed in April 1985. A grand opening celebration was held on June 24, 1985. With team members, physicians, volunteers and chaplains in place, the Gulf Breeze Hospital team began caring for patients that same day. Then, now and always – our Gulf Breeze Hospital has continued to grow and evolve to meet the needs of our community.
