Meet Your Provider

What led you to become a provider or choose your focus of medicine?
During my high school years I made the decision that I wanted a profession in the medical field. I began researching various medical careers and decided that I wanted to become a nurse. When I was in college I decided to continue my education and pursue a degree as a nurse practitioner.

What about your line of work do you find most rewarding and why?
It’s rewarding to help people. I enjoy the aspect of diagnosing and addressing medical issues and helping patients resolve these issues. Often, these issues are critical and life threatening. Helping them overcome these issues is very rewarding.

What is something about you that only your patients would know?
I can’t really think of anything that only my patients would know about me. I am a fairly transparent individual so anyone who knows me, knows who I am inside and out.

How would a patient describe you?
Patients would describe me as honest, compassionate, competent and a good listener.

What’s your proudest moment as a provider?
I can’t name one single proud moment as a healthcare provider. I am proud anytime I can help a patient, especially with complicated illnesses.

In your opinion, what’s the most important factor in a provider-patient relationship?
Honesty is the number one element in establishing a quality doctor-patient relationship.

What can a patient expect when they have you as a provider?
Patients can expect to be my number one priority when they come into the office for an appointment. I treat each patient as an individual and strive to create an environment where patients are comfortable sharing information and discussing their symptoms, complaints and concerns. That crucial information coupled with a thorough examination is vital to proper diagnosis and treatment. My goal is to ensure each patient receives quality and appropriate healthcare.

What do you find most encouraging about the work you do?
It’s always encouraging when a patient comes into my office with a medical issue that ultimately results in a positive outcome after care and treatment are administered. Helping people successfully manage their health is one of the most satisfying aspects of this profession.

What are your top priorities with every patient you see?
My top priorities are to treat each patient with respect and empathy while at the same time being honest and straightforward. As difficult as it may be, patients often need straight talk in regards to lifestyle changes that will help improve their health and overall quality of life.

Describe one of the top ways you ensure each patient receives the quality, personal health care he/she deserves.
I approach the care and treatment of each patient as if they were one of my own family members. I am thorough and thoughtful when evaluating patient lab reports, diagnostic testing and family history information. These important components combined with the information provided by the patient and a thorough physical examination ensures that each patient receives quality care.

Is there anything more or extra you would like prospective patients to know about you?
I have extensive experience in the field of women’s health and over the past several years have expanded my services to include general family practice for men and women. My ultimate goal is to establish a provider/patient relationship with each patient that is built on openness, trust and confidence.

Do you have any specific medical interests?
My interest is to continue providing quality healthcare services to my patients.
