Dr. Vigo has been my primary care doctor for 3+ years now. I was under his care while he was at White Wilson and I followed him to Baptist because he has always taken such good care of my health. (I live in [...] and the drive to Pensacola takes me about 1 1/4 hours one way). I have a lot of health problems and Dr. Vigo always listens to me. I have great respect for him and the excellent care he provides me, so it's well worth the drive and time it takes.

What led you to become a physician?
My father was a doctor; excellent role model.
What about your line of work do you find most rewarding and why?
It is most rewarding to be proactive in detecting problems before something serious happens – it saves lives.
How would a patient describe you?
Honest, thorough and compassionate – always willing to help.
What’s your proudest moment as a physician?
When I saved a patient with a massive pulmonary embolism after others gave up.
In your opinion, what’s the most important factor in a doctor-patient relationship?
Trust and respect.
What do you find most encouraging about the work you do?
Hard work pays off. People live longer when we work hard together to keep them healthy.
What are your top priorities with every patient you see?
To make sure that they are medically optimized.

I spend a lot of time explaining to patients what each lab result value means and how best to optimize it.

I am a man of deep faith, always guided by a high power/purpose.
