Meet Your Provider

What led you to become a nurse practitioner and choose your focus of medicine?
Through my own experiences, I have come to appreciate and empathize with individuals living with chronic disease, particularly cardiovascular disease and diabetes. It can be challenging, frustrating, even isolating at times. As a nurse practitioner, I can be on the front lines of clinical research and care initiatives to improve health outcomes.

What about your line of work do you find most rewarding and why?
Nursing gives me the opportunity to help patients and families do more than just manage the disease. The greatest reward is to have played a role in helping them live well and thrive despite it.

How would a patient describe you?
A patient would describe me as compassionate, knowledgeable, friendly and hard-working.

What’s your proudest moment as an advanced practitioner?
I take pride in assisting patients to make positive lifestyle changes to improve their health. Seeing their confidence soar when they are successful has been a great motivator for my patients as well as myself as their provider to continue to learn and grow.

In your opinion, what are the most important factors in an advanced practitioner-patient relationship?
Trust and open dialogue so that we can set achievable goals to optimize the patient’s health and well-being.

What can a patient expect when they have you as an advanced practitioner?
I will take the necessary time to listen to concerns, answer questions, and understand your unique strengths and challenges. We will make decisions together.

What do you find most encouraging about the work you do?
Having the opportunity every day to empower individuals and families to improve their quality of life provides all the encouragement I need!

What are your top priorities for every patient you see?
Developing strong relationships is vitally important to positive health outcomes and patient satisfaction. I strive to deliver holistic, patient-centered care that prioritizes the individual needs and wants of every patient I see.
