Dr. Balfour Earns Cardiac MRI Board Certification - Level III Competence - and Fellowship

Pelbreton C. Balfour Jr., M.D., M.S., FACC, FSCMR, a cardiologist with the Baptist Heart & Vascular Institute, has been named a Fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance, earned Level III competence in cardiovascular magnetic resonance, and earned board certification in cardiac MRI from the Certification Board of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance. These achievements are based on Dr. Balfour’s extensive training and professional and scholarly achievement.

Dr. Balfour earned his bachelor’s degree from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, and his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in Pittsburgh. He completed an internship and residency at the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville, Virginia. Dr. Balfour is fellowship trained in clinical cardiology and in advanced cardiovascular imaging. He has been recognized as a fellow with the American College of Cardiology.
