Baptist Cancer Institute Offers Cancer Rehabilitation
The Baptist Cancer Institute offers cancer rehabilitation at Andrews Institute Rehabilitation locations. We offer comprehensive rehabilitation services to assist with cancer recovery, reduce pain, manage treatment side effects, build strength, promote better quality of life and attain the best health possible. Our treatment program focuses on the needs of patients who have undergone treatment for cancer.
Exercise has numerous benefits for cancer patients including:
- Less fatigue
- Decreased anxiety
- Fewer sleep disturbances
- Decreased memory loss during treatment
- Reduction in chemotherapy-induced nausea
- Decreased shortness of breath
- Fewer lingering effects of disease and treatment
- Drop in insulin levels
- Increased recovery of function
- Improved body composition
- Improved health during and after cancer treatment
Therapy programs are designed and customized to meet the unique needs of each patient. Physical activities are selected based on the patient’s diagnosis, type of cancer and fitness level (most exercise regimens are designed for the mild to moderate level). The frequency and duration of treatment will be determined by your physician and your therapist. Therapy sessions are available at the following locations.
