Baptist Health Care in Pensacola, Florida has selected Epic, the nation’s leading, top-rated electronic health record, as its future systemwide EHR solution, with a planned go-live of 2028.

Epic was selected following a thorough evaluation process and further informed by the expertise of Baptist Health Care providers and team members. It is recognized as a best-in-class EHR that is trusted by hospitals nationwide for its sophisticated capabilities that support the highest-level patient care. This decision represents a significant investment in Baptist Health Care’s continued focus on strengthening care delivery, elevating the patient experience and investing in an advanced, scalable digital health record.

“Selecting Epic reflects our commitment to continuously elevating how we care for our patients and support our providers and team members,” said Mark Faulkner, president and CEO, Baptist Health Care.

“Advancements in health care technology are constant. This investment supports current workflow and patient care needs and positions us for greater adaptability in the future.”

Baptist Health Care’s current EHR has served the organization well, providing a strong foundation for care delivery. The transition to Epic builds on that foundation—allowing BHC to further standardize processes, expand capabilities and meet the evolving health care needs of the communities we serve.

Epic is the top choice for hospitals adopting new EHR systems, organizations selecting it due to its proven performance and robust capabilities.

For clinical and support team members, Epic will provide a single, integrated environment for documentation, messaging and patient information. For patients, the system will offer an enhanced, user-friendly experience utilizing Epic’s well known MyChart app for easier access to medical records, test results, appointments and direct communication with care teams. Implementation will follow a phased approach over the next several years with a 2028 launch.
