Biography

Angela Stewart, APRN, FNP-C, is a board-certified nurse practitioner who provides quality cardiothoracic and vascular care to patients at Baptist Heart & Vascular Institute. She works closely with patients and their families to develop care plans to best meet their needs.

What led you to become a nurse practitioner or choose your focus of medicine?
I enjoy working with people, especially in a team setting.

What about your line of work do you find most rewarding and why?
The most rewarding part of my job is seeing improvement in my patients’ health.

What is something about you that only your patients would know?
I am very determined. If my patients have a problem or run into an obstacle, they can count on me to find a solution or solve the problem.

How would a patient describe you?
My patients would describe me as thorough, committed and honest.

What’s your proudest moment as a nurse practitioner?
My proudest moment as a nurse practitioner is graduating with my Master of Science.

In your opinion, what’s the most important factor in a provider-patient relationship?
The most important factor in the provider-patient relationship is trust.

What can a patient expect when they have you as a provider?
Patients can expect open communication, accessibility, honesty and compassion. I am invested in their health care.

What do you find most encouraging about the work you do?
The most encouraging thing about my work is seeing patients recover from illness or improve their overall health.

What are your top priorities with every patient you see?
My top priorities with every patient I see are first to listen and secondly to devise a treatment plan that is patient centered and aligns with their wishes.

Describe one of the top ways you ensure each patient receives the quality, personal health care he/she deserves.
I make sure each patient has my full attention without time limitations.

Is there anything more that you would like prospective patients to know about you?
I am committed to my patients’ well-being.

I have always been interested in cardiovascular health.
