Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation

A Comprehensive Approach

Baptist Hospital offers an elevated level of post-cardiac care with intensive cardiac rehabilitation through a partnership with Pritikin ICR™.

While traditional cardiac rehab mainly emphasizes exercise, the Pritikin ICR™ program takes a comprehensive approach that also includes healthy eating and a positive mindset. The Medicare-approved, evidence-based program highlights education and gives patients double the number of rehab sessions—up from 36 to 72. The program helps individuals who have experienced a serious heart event reduce their risk factors by building healthy habits and learning practical skills that promote long-term health.

Located in Bear Family Foundation Health Center at 125 Baptist Way, Suite 2A, Pensacola, Florida, Baptist Hospital Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation offers an extensive array of exercise equipment for complete cardiovascular and strength workouts in an environment that fosters healing.

What Cardiopulmonary Rehab Can Do for You

Intensive cardiac rehabilitation is designed for people who have recently experienced a heart event or cardiac procedure. For those with chronic respiratory diseases such as emphysema, chronic bronchitis or pulmonary fibrosis, pulmonary rehabilitation combines education with therapeutic exercise to help manage these lung conditions and achieve maximum independence.

Will Insurance Cover My Cardiac Rehab?

Most medical insurance plans cover these services. However, you should check with your insurance carrier to confirm. The Baptist Hospital business office will work with you to set up a payment schedule for any uncovered portions.
