Baptist Heart & Vascular Institute Welcomes James Lonquist, M.D., FACS
Baptist Heart & Vascular Institute is pleased to welcome James Lonquist, M.D., FACS, a triple board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon. Dr. Lonquist has 30 years of experience and works with patients to develop comprehensive treatment plans to meet their individual needs.
Dr. Lonquist earned his Doctor of Medicine at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida, and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. Dr. Lonquist completed his residency in general surgery at the University of Texas and his fellowship in cardiovascular research and cardiac transplantation at the Texas Heart Institute in Houston, Texas. He also completed a residency in cardiothoracic surgery at the Texas Heart Institute, MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Lonquist has 30 years of experience in cardiothoracic surgery and is board certified by the American Board of Surgery in general surgery, the American Board of Thoracic Surgery in cardiothoracic surgery, and the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine in vascular surgery. He has held numerous leadership positions throughout his career, most recently serving as the director of cardiovascular surgery for Advent Health in Ocala, Florida.
Dr. Lonquist’s professional memberships include those with the Southern Thoracic Surgical Association, the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons and the Denton A. Cooley Cardiovascular Surgical Society.
As part of Baptist Heart & Vascular Institute, Dr. Lonquist cares for patients at his clinic located at the Bear Family Foundation Health Center, 125 Baptist Way, Suite 3B, in Pensacola.
